Figure skating :The
beginning
Vickie
is our second daughter. Born on 15 February 1998, she brought
us a ray of sunshine in a very difficult time of our lives.
I wish everyone had a child who is always smiling, full
of life and humour in all circumstances. Vickie loves to
play and laugh, she likes to enjoy life and of course to
skate.
She
enjoyed skating at the age of 18 months (it has become a
family ritual), fitting into small double-blade skates.
She started in unfavourable circumstances at the Francoville
rink (95). She could not stay too long behind as a spectator
while her sister was already on the ice. Quickly, we offered
her her first real skates and she was quick to try them
out.
With
character and determination, she would not let herself be
beaten. However, she is always full of courage towards those
around her. She grew up quickly and faced some situations
that few children will ever meet.
Vickie
has never experienced school. She has been registered with
the HOME SCHOOL (CNED) since the beginning of her schooling
and evolved into the world of skating, trained, of course,
by her Mum. Vickie understands very quickly and rapidly
puts her all the technical corrections into practice which
allow her to progress on the ice. The main thing to remember
is her joy, her gaiety, and what she says, which always
makes us laugh on the ice and at home is, 'Look, dad I can
do it !'
Philippe
and Olivia Candeloro immediately thought of her to appear
in the first TV programme on TF1's "Grand
Défi de la Glace" in 2006 with Flavie Flament. We are
very grateful for all their support and kindness towards
our 2 daughters.
Like
her mother, she loves pair
figure skating. At the age of 8, she discovered this
with a young skater from Argenteuil. The beginnings were
promising. But serious problems slowed down the progress
and the situation deteriorated month after month. Her partner
seemed less and less motivated then he stopped !
